Bastrop State Park



We also enjoyed hiking the nearby Bastrop State Park. It was a lot more rocky than Buescher with interesting streams and ponds.


We always enjoy seeing the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) structures. It wasn’t that easy to find the water fountain that Alan is standing next to in the picture. We had to use our hand-held GPS as we ventured off the trail.

One of these may be the endangered Houston Toad that is known to be in the Park, but we aren’t really sure. We almost stepped on one of them in the wildlife viewing shelter.
