Why travelling by Airstream is always better than flying . . .

We had a wonderful trip to the Paradisus Palma Real Resort in Punta Cana with Alan’s family.  We really had a great time all around.  The beach and snorkeling were terrific and spending time with my nephews was fun!  Getting home was not as good.  So, here are our Top Seven Reasons why travelling by Airstream is always better than flying:

  1. You don’t have to worry about a driver’s strike (that means in order to get to the airport for your 2:30 PM departure you have to leave the Resort at 6 AM.)
  2. There is always a place to sit in your Airstream (think thousands of tourists that also had to get to the airport at 6AM.)
  3. You always have your own private (clean) bathroom in your Airstream (think thousands of tourists that have been waiting at the airport since 6AM.)
  4. There is never a problem with your Airstream departure being delayed (even though you have already been waiting in the airport for eight hours.)
  5. You don’t have to take a bus to (and from) your Airstream (all while worrying whether you are going to make your connection at the other end.)
  6. There is no luggage that has to get off your Airstream in a place that is on “island time” (when you now only have ten minutes to make your connection – which we didn’t make.)
  7. You never have 95 teenagers hanging-out in your campsite loudly playing clapping games (when you are waiting for your third flight of the day (which started 17 hours earlier) and the flight is delayed an hour!)
