Let me just start by saying that Big Bend National Park is a VERY BIG place. We stayed in the far south-west corner at the Rio Grande Village. We are pretty close to the river here and they recently had some flooding. They even had to close the regular (no hook-up) campground because it got wiped out by the River and evacuate the whole place.
They have been working on cleaning out the mud. There were dump trucks driving past our campsite (aka parking lot) pretty regularly during our stay. This is what the campground looks like now. You can see how the Bear Boxes were pretty much covered by mud and water and one point.
This is what the nature trail looks like now!
