While visitng the Sleep Bear Dune Overlook along the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, we spotted this interesting looking bird (it was making a racket.) Good thing there was a “birder” nearby who told us it was an Indigo Bunting, otherwise we would still be calling it a cerulean warbler (which is the only blue bird we know.) This is a male – the females aren’t even blue. Supposedly, they migrate pretty far south so we may spot one at home sometime.
