Pitcher Plant

Our first stop in Florida was at the Big Lagoon State Park near Pensacola.  Before we left, we took the short drive North to Tarklin Bayou State Park.  Tarklin is the home of the rare, endangered carnivorous, white-topped Pitcher Plant.

We never saw the Sundew but I’m not sure we would have recognized it anyway.  The Pitcher Plant caught your eye because of the red flowers that it grows along side.
