We spent the last five days in the mostly wet Table Rock State Park near Branson, MO. There had been a lot of rain before we got here and the Table Rock Dam was overflowing. Unfortunately, there was damage to homes down-stream.
The path in the Park was mostly underwater when we arrived. By the time we left, the lake level was way down but parts of the trail were still under water and the marina was closed.
Here are some before and after shots of the picnic area:
Since we couldn’t hike at Table Rock State Park we headed for the nearby Henning Conservation Area closer to Branson. It was a really nice place with lovely creeks and a overlook point. Im going to paste the Photosynth panorama on Facebook. We were a bit muddy by the time we got home but it felt good to get out and get some decent exercise.
Alan spent two days hanging out with some buddies at an Old Woodworking Machines gathering in nearby Hollister. I stayed “home” and sewed one day and checked out the local quilt shops the second day. More on the quilt shops later.
